ICT has defined four interdisciplinary Scientific Challenges for 2025-2029, envisaging a coherent and solid contribution to the international geoscience community.

ICT is a centre of high-intensity laboratory activity and with well-equipped laboratory facilities and portable and field equipment to prepare and characterise very different types of materials, to monitor natural systems, and to develop experimental research with natural and/or model materials.
